Our beliefs

As a Vineyard church, the Kingdom of God is at the center of our theology.
Here’s some more about our core beliefs.

God, Creation, and the Fall

We believe that God is the Eternal King—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—perfect in holiness, wisdom, love and power. He created and sustains all things, and His kingdom is everlasting. Satan, once a good angel, rebelled and established a kingdom of darkness. God created humanity in His image for relationship and stewardship, yet through temptation and disobedience, our first parents fell, bringing sin, sickness and death into the world. Human beings are now born in sin, under judgement and captive to darkness. Still, God continued His rule, revealing His grace through covenants and His commitment to redeem His people.

God’s Faithful Covenant & Jesus the Messiah

God redeemed Israel from Egypt, gave the law through Moses and established the monarchy, promising David an eternal heir. In the fullness of time, He fulfilled His promises by sending Jesus—fully God and fully human—conceived by the Spirit and born of Mary. Anointed as Messiah, Jesus inaugurated God’s kingdom, resisted temptation, healed the sick, cast out demons and raised the dead. He formed His church, died for the sins of the world and rose on the third day. In His life, death and resurrection, He fulfilled the covenants, defeated demonic powers and now reigns as the eternal Messiah-King.

The Holy Spirit, The Church, and the Future Hope

At Pentecost the Holy Spirit empowered the church with God’s presence, gifts and mission, driving back darkness through the word and works of Jesus. All people are under sin and judgement, but through repentance and faith in Jesus, God regenerates, justifies and adopts us into His kingdom family. The Spirit then indwells and empowers believers, giving gifts for ministry, guiding, teaching and enabling healing and service. Scripture, inspired by the Spirit, is our final authority. God’s kingdom is present now, coming soon and will be fulfilled at Christ’s return, when He renews all things.
